Christmas is on December 25. It’s the biggest festival in the West. It’s just like our Spring Festival (春节). Families get together and enjoy holiday fun.
Santa Claus 圣诞老人
This grandpa has many names. We usually call him Santa Claus. He always wears a red coat and a red hat. Santa is very busy on Christmas Eve (平安夜). 在平安夜给孩子们送礼物是圣诞老人的重要任务。
Christmas reindeer 圣诞驯鹿
Do you know the story of “red-nose Rudolph”? Rudolph is a reindeer (驯鹿). He works with eight other reindeer to pull Santa’s sleigh (雪橇). 鲁道夫用自己红红的鼻子为圣诞老人照亮了夜路。
Christmas stocking 圣诞袜
Where does Santa put his gifts? In the Christmas stockings! Children hang Christmas stockings on their beds. They find gifts in them on Christmas morning.
Christmas tree 圣诞树
People often put a Christmas tree in their house. 圣诞树大多是松树和杉树。It’s a lot of fun to decorate (装饰) the tree.
Candy cane 拐棍糖
Candy cane is another Christmas symbol. People hang it on Christmas trees. Kids also get candy canes as gifts.
Christmas carol 圣诞颂歌
“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.” People sing Christmas songs from door to door on Christmas Eve. 这也是一个传递圣诞欢乐气氛的传统。
Paper fun 缤纷团扇
You will need
Gift wrap 礼品包装纸
1. 把礼品纸剪成12厘米宽，30厘米长的长方形。
2. Fold the paper. 从短边起折若干个1.5厘米宽的褶。
3. Staple (钉住) the center. 把纸条的四个边用钉书器钉在一起。
4. Make a hole (孔) at one end. 用线穿起来。Hang it!
